BIRD FEEDERS

BIRD FEEDERS

Got Milk? Drink it and then turn the carton into a bird feeder just by cutting a hole in the side. Decorate it however you like and then fill it with seed. Your neighborhood birds will be ever so grateful. If you’re lactose intolerant, a can of Pringles will also get the job done.

CASSETTE WALLET

CASSETTE WALLET

While most people only see cassettes covered in dust at garage sales these days, you now have a good excuse for never having tossed that “Thriller” tape in the back corner of your closet… or perhaps in the back of your parents’ closet. Cut that thing open and turn it into a cool, retro-looking wallet. Five years from now we’ll probably be showing you how to make CD drink coasters.

EGG CARTON LAPTOP COOLER

EGG CARTON LAPTOP COOLER

Who would have thought that you can cool down your laptop simply by resting it on top of an empty egg carton? This simple trick will help prevent your computer from overheating and save you a lot of money in the process. If you’re in California, however, buying a new laptop might be cheaper than a carton of eggs these days.

SHAMPOO BOTTLE PHONE HOLDER

SHAMPOO BOTTLE PHONE HOLDER

Never again worry about where an electric outlet is placed. With a few scissor snips, you can turn a shampoo bottle into a container that holds your phone whenever it’s charging. Best of all, this little trick will help keep your phone germ-free.

PHONE BOOK PEN HOLDER

PHONE BOOK PEN HOLDER

Thanks to the internet, phone books have gone the way of cassettes. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean you should crumple up the pages and light them under your fireplace grate. Try cutting out some chunks from the book and folding them into a holder for pens and pencils.

SUITCASE PET BED

SUITCASE PET BED

Have an old suitcase that’s seen better days? I’m sure there’s one member of your family who would still appreciate it. Dust it off, give it a wash and stick a pillow inside. Your dog or cat will thank you. Just don’t lock the top back down while they’re still inside.

PLASTIC BOTTLE CAP BAG CLOSERS

PLASTIC BOTTLE CAP BAG CLOSERS

Whoever thought of this idea is a genius. You can follow the steps in the diagram above, but the gist of it is this: Cut off the top of a used plastic bottle below the part where the cap twists on. Then string a plastic bag through the opening, fan it out over the top and twist on the bottle cap to complete the seal.

TENNIS BALL HOLDER

TENNIS BALL HOLDER

Everybody’s got some used tennis balls scattered around their yard – even if they don’t play tennis. It’s often a mystery how they appeared, but since they’re around, you might as well put them to good use. Clean them off if necessary, slice through one side and that’s it. You’ve got an instant tennis ball holder. Have fun seeing how many different items will stay inside.
