In a world where it seems like every company has to expand it’s offerings, high-end car company Audi is branching out. Besides creating cars like the R8 (and even placing that car subtly (or not so subtly) in Iron Man 3 and even in the future in I, Robot), Audi is getting into the engine-less, two wheeled game.

I mean, I’m not one to criticize a scrappy marketing department of a small company like Audi, but maybe they could have put more effort into the name? What about the Red Feather, or the Crimson Kite? Alright fine, it’s hard.

More interested in the specs of the bike than my naming attempts? Fair enough. The bike weighs 5.8 kilograms, or about 12 pounds for the metrically-challenged. The frame itself weighs a startling 790 grams, which is about the weight of 5 iPhone 6 Plus phones.

That frame is made from a carbon that Audi calls, no joke, T1000. No word on if it melts and reforms into arms with knives, but that’s probably the premium edition.

The entirety of the bike is fully customized, as one would expect from a car-maker of Audi’s caliber.

We’re talking a “Selle Italia carbon saddle covered in Fine Nappa leather,” which is apparently also used in the R8.

So far they have only produced 50 of these bikes in an initial limited run, but you can still request one here. They cost 17,500 Euros, which at the time of this writing is $19,507.00. So if the exchange rent tanks, get in on a slightly cheaper deal!

Entrepreneurial Reddit commenters have already pointed out that a bike that weighs almost as little costs half as much, and it’s made by Trek. But does it have that fine Italian leather butt cushioning? I don’t think so Trek.
