Lea Michele has paid tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith to mark the third anniversary of his death.
The Scream Queens star, 29, took to social media to share her thoughts on this sad day and in a heartbreaking message promised to never forget the special memories they made together.
She posted a picture to Facebook of the late actor walking towards the sea with the caption: “We may not have gotten to share a lifetime together.. But the memories.. they’re the best of my life.. Love you Cory.”
She later posted on Twitter: “I know everyday you’re watching over me, and smiling. Love and miss you Cory, everyday, but today a little more.”
Lea and Cory first met while working on the hit TV series Glee back in 2009 and began dating in November 2011. The perfect pair were together up until he passed away.
After struggling with substance abuse for most of his adult life, the actor died on July 13 2013 age 31 in a hotel in Vancouver, Canada. It was concluded that his death was caused by a fatal mix of heroine and alcohol that was ruled accidental.
Along with Lea’s touching messages, other fellow Glee co-stars posted moving messages on social media for Cory.
Matthew Morrison, Chord Overstreet and Naya Rivera Dorsey were among those who shared their own memories of Monteith.
It is hard to believe that three years have passed since this much-loved actors untimely death however, it must bring those who were close to him comfort that he is still remembered and in the hearts of so many.
